What you'll be doing

  • Analyse project plans, specifications, and other related documents to prepare comprehensive cost estimates
  • Liaise with vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to gather pricing information and ensure accurate estimates
  • Participate in the bidding process, providing detailed cost breakdowns and recommendations
  • Monitor and update cost estimates throughout the project lifecycle, identifying potential risks and opportunities
  • Collaborate with the project management team to ensure estimates align with budget and timeline constraints
  • Maintain detailed records and documentation to support the estimating process
  • Continuously research industry trends, new technologies, and best practices to improve the estimating function

  • Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry, with a strong track record of accurate and successful cost estimates
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documents
  • Proficient in using estimating software and tools, such as spreadsheet applications and project management software
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Thorough understanding of construction materials, labor, and equipment costs, as well as industry regulations and standards
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to providing high-quality work
