Accounting Officer

We are hiring an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Officer to oversee daily financial operations, ensure accurate record-keeping, and maintain compliance with Philippine accounting and tax regulations. This role covers Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), taxation, invoicing, disbursements, and reporting, requiring precision, analytical skills, and a strong grasp of accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable (AP):
- Review and validate supplier invoices with complete supporting documents and approvals.
- Monitor due dates and process payments in a timely manner.
- Reconcile vendor statements and address discrepancies.
- Maintain organized AP documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
Accounts Receivable (AR):
- Generate and issue invoices in accordance with billing terms.
- Monitor AR aging, follow up on overdue accounts, and ensure timely collections.
- Reconcile customer accounts and process adjustments when necessary.
- Prepare AR aging reports and keep records updated.
Tax Compliance:
- Prepare and file VAT, EWT, and income tax returns in compliance with BIR regulations.
- Maintain accurate tax records and audit-ready schedules.
- Coordinate with auditors and government agencies on tax-related matters.
- Stay updated on changes in tax laws and apply them to processes as required.
Invoice & Disbursement Management:
- Ensure invoices are accurate in terms of pricing, taxes, and terms.
- Record all invoices and disbursements systematically.
- Prepare checks and payment documents for approval.
- Track issuance of payments and ensure timely release.
General Accounting & Reporting:
- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Support internal and external audits with required schedules and documentation.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS and company accounting policies.
- Recommend process improvements to strengthen internal controls.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Solid experience in AP, AR, taxation, and general accounting (auditing background is an advantage).
- Proficiency in accounting systems (QuickBooks, SAP, Xero, Oracle).
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas).
- Familiarity with GAAP, IFRS, and Philippine tax regulations; ERP experience a plus.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- High attention to detail, with integrity and confidentiality.
