
HR and Recruitment Specialist

The HR and Recruitment Specialist will play a key role in supporting the company's growth by ensuring timely hiring of qualified ESL teachers and support staff, while also handling HR functions to promote a positive work culture. This role requires strong recruitment skills, an understanding of the ESL industry, and the ability to manage HR operations that support both local and foreign employees.
Key Responsibilities Recruitment & Staffing
- Manage end-to-end recruitment for ESL teachers, trainers, and support staff.
- Source candidates through job boards, social media, career fairs, referrals, and international channels.
- Screen, interview, and evaluate applicants to ensure alignment with teaching requirements and company standards.
- Coordinate demo classes, teaching assessments, and panel interviews with academic teams.
- Handle the pre-employment process, including background checks, reference checks, and documentation.
- Monitor teacher attrition rates and maintain a strong candidate pipeline to support operational needs.
HR Operations & Employee Relations
- Facilitate onboarding and orientation programs for new hires (local and foreign).
- Support employee engagement activities, wellness programs, and retention initiatives tailored to ESL staff.
- Address employee concerns and maintain good employee relations.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, visa/work permit regulations (if applicable), and company policies.
- Maintain accurate employee records in HRIS and ensure proper documentation for regulatory requirements.
Training & Development
- Partner with the Training/Academic team to coordinate teacher training and certification programs.
- Track performance reviews and assist in career development initiatives.
- Monitor training needs and ensure completion of mandatory HR/teaching-related workshops.
HR Administration
- Assist in payroll preparation by providing accurate employee data (attendance, leaves, movements).
- Support HR audits, policy updates, and continuous improvement projects.
- Prepare HR reports (recruitment status, turnover, retention metrics, etc.).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Education, or related field.
- Minimum of 2–3 years of HR and recruitment experience, preferably in an ESL or education industry.
- Familiarity with ESL teaching standards and hiring requirements is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of labor laws and employment practices (local and foreign hires).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and recruitment tools; experience with HRIS systems is an advantage.
- Highly organized, adaptable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
