Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases for optimal performance.
  • Monitor database systems and implement tuning and optimization strategies.
  • Execute backup, recovery, and disaster recovery plans.
  • Collaborate with development teams to optimize SQL queries and database schema designs.
  • Manage security by configuring access permissions and enforcing policies.
  • Automate database administrative tasks using scripting languages such as PowerShell and Python.
  • Work with cloud database services like Azure SQL Managed Instances.
  • Provide documentation of database configurations and processes.

Skills Required:

  • Strong experience in Microsoft SQL Server administration.
  • Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries.
  • Knowledge of backup and recovery procedures.
  • Experience with performance tuning and monitoring tools.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure.
  • Scripting skills for automation (PowerShell, Python).
  • Ability to troubleshoot database performance issues and ensure high availability.
