About the Role:

The Tax Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the company's full compliance with tax regulations. This position oversees tax planning, reporting, and filing processes, while proactively identifying risks and opportunities to optimize the company's tax position. The Tax Manager serves as a key liaison between internal departments and external stakeholders—including auditors, tax authorities, and consultants—to coordinate accurate and timely tax-related activities. Through strategic oversight and collaboration, this role safeguards the organization's financial integrity and supports long-term business objectives.

What You'll Do:

  • Act as the primary contact for all tax compliance matters and regulatory concerns.
  • Prepare and ensure timely filing and payment of tax returns—monthly, quarterly, semestral, and annual—to the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and Local Government Units (LGUs).
  • Manage ongoing BIR tax cases and assessments, tracking their progress toward resolution in collaboration with consultants and the Regional Headquarters (RHQ).
  • Conduct regular reviews of tax-related practices to ensure full compliance with Philippine regulations (e.g. BIR, LGU, Bureau of Customs).
  • Identify non-compliant or high-risk practices and implement corrective actions in coordination with leadership, RHQ representatives, and department point persons (PICs).
  • Support special projects and respond to ad hoc requests related to tax and accounting initiatives.

What You Must Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Tax Compliance, Tax Advisory, and Tax Audit.
  • In-depth knowledge of Philippine tax laws and regulations, including recent updates and trends.
  • Strong understanding and application of Accounting Standards.
  • Hands-on experience with full-cycle tax audits involving BIR, LGU, and BOC.
  • Proven expertise in tax compliance, reporting, and identifying tax-saving opportunities.

Nice if you have:

  • Experience working with or trained by major tax consultancy firms.
  • Exposure to regional or international tax frameworks.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems or tax software tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
  • Strong project management skills, especially in handling cross-functional tax initiatives.
  • Ability to interpret complex tax scenarios and provide strategic recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience in supporting tax-related special projects or ad hoc financial initiatives.
