Job Overview: Training Officer (Human Resources)

The Training Officer is responsible for developing, facilitating, and monitoring training programs that enhance employee skills, knowledge, and performance. This role ensures that learning initiatives align with organizational objectives while supporting employee growth and engagement. The Training Officer works closely with HR and department heads to conduct training needs analyses, design and deliver effective learning sessions, and evaluate program outcomes to build a capable and high-performing workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct training needs assessments in coordination with HR and department managers.
  • Design, prepare, and deliver training programs, workshops, and seminars.
  • Develop training materials, modules, and evaluation tools tailored to organizational requirements.
  • Facilitate onboarding and orientation programs for new employees.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of training sessions and make improvements as needed.
  • Maintain updated records of training attendance, results, and progress reports.
  • Coordinate with external training providers, if necessary, for specialized programs.
  • Support employee engagement initiatives and contribute to talent development strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 1–2 years of experience in training, learning and development, or HR is an advantage.
  • Strong facilitation, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to design engaging training modules and materials.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and/or e-learning platforms.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to work with cross-functional teams.
