Makati City, National Capital Region, Philippines Multinational Ship Management, Inc. Full time $40,000 - $80,000 per year

Job Mission: Ensure availability of pool of competent hotel marine and technical personnel to meet client's requirements Propose and present suitable applicants for client's approval Administer pre-crewing and training activities of applicants.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  1. Keeps self and superior(s) continually informed about manning requirements of client-vessel(s) per contract, principal's request, email, verbal instructions from crewing and superiors.

  2. Understand the contract or request from Principal and in consultation with superior, identify sources of candidates for recruitment

  3. Seek out prospective recruits with required experience, certificate of competency, desire to work in cruise ship

  4. Advertise job openings through authorized media

  5. Accept and entertain walk-in/online applicants and referrals

  6. Conducts orientation and discuss the recruitment process and document requirements to all applicants.

  7. Ensure that all applicants possess minimum documentary requirement, i.e, passport, seaman's book, basic safety training, vaccine, etc.

  8. Checks the validity and authenticity of documents presented such passports, seaman's book, and employment certificates.

  9. Is familiar with the job descriptions and minimum certifications required for each position being recruited and hired.

  10. Undertakes field recruitment like visiting hotels and restaurants or joining jobs fairs and other Special Recruitment Activities

  11. Schedule and call candidates scheduled for examinations and interview

  12. Assists in conducting preliminary interviews

  13. Administer examinations and assessments for shortlisted applicants

  14. Prepare and send to Principal the necessary materials like CVs/resume prior to scheduled Principal's interview.

  15. Make necessary arrangements for Principal's interview or testing of crewing candidates

  16. After the interview(s), inform candidates if they passed or failed.

  17. Conducts character/background check of qualified applicants and inform superior of findings in written form

  18. Encode results of interviews and background checks for use by interviewers

  19. Forward to crewing successful candidates for additional interview and subsequent processing and offer suggestions to crewing department

  20. Conduct background checks for former employees, finished contract, and repatriated medical inform superiors of findings in writing.

  21. Conducts weekly review of manning requirements of client-vessels

  22. Maintain soft and hard copies of candidates resume per position

  23. Assist in, and prepare for, Pre-Departure Orientation Seminar and Anti-Piracy Seminar for joining crew.

  24. Issue PDOS cards and anti-piracy seminar certificates

  25. Respond and acknowledge to applications submitted online especially for critical and needed positions

  26. May be asked to attend management meetings and is expected to participate
