Job Purpose

The Structural Engineer is responsible for the analysis, design, evaluation, and implementation of structural components in road, bridge, and highway projects. The role ensures that structures are safe, compliant with Philippine codes and international standards, cost-effective, and resilient against environmental conditions such as earthquakes, typhoons, and flooding. The engineer works collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support the construction and maintenance of national and local infrastructure projects that improve transportation connectivity in the Philippines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform structural analysis and design for roads, bridges, and highway infrastructure projects in compliance with local and international standards (DPWH, AASHTO, etc.)
  • Prepare detailed engineering calculations, technical specifications, and construction drawings.
  • Use software such as STAAD Pro, SAP2000, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D to develop structural models and drawings.
  • Ensure all designs comply with DPWH, NSCP, and international standards like AASHTO.
  • Conduct structural inspections and site visits to monitor project progress and quality.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, geotechnical, and environmental engineers.
  • Review and approve structural drawings, technical specifications, and BOQs.
  • Resolve structural issues during construction phases and provide engineering solutions.
  • Participate in project planning, risk assessment, and quality assurance/control processes.
  • Prepare technical reports and participate in project meetings.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE); Master's in Structural Engineering is an advantage.
  • Licensed Civil Engineer in the Philippines (PRC).
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in structural design or supervision of roads, bridges, or highway projects.
  • Proficient in engineering software (e.g., STAAD Pro, SAP2000, AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
  • Strong knowledge of DPWH Design Guidelines, NSCP, and relevant codes.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work on-site in various environmental conditions.
  • Willingness to stay in company-provided staff housing at the project location in SLEX-TR4 (Batangas, Laguna and Quezon) participate in fieldwork as needed.

Preferred Experience

  • Previous work on DPWH, Build Build Build, or other government infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with retrofitting, structural audits, and seismic design.
  • Familiarity with environmental compliance and road safety design.
