About the role

Zirconia Inc., an industry-leading manufacturing company, is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to join our dynamic team in Makati City Metro Manila. This full-time position plays a crucial role in optimising our supply chain operations and ensuring the timely procurement of materials and services to support our manufacturing processes.

What you'll be doing

  1. Develop and implement effective purchasing strategies to meet the company's production and operational needs
  2. Negotiate favourable contracts and terms with suppliers to maximise cost savings and ensure reliable supply
  3. Manage the procurement of raw materials, components, and services, ensuring quality, on-time delivery, and cost-effectiveness
  4. Collaborate cross-functionally with production, logistics, and finance teams to align purchasing activities with business objectives
  5. Monitor and analyse market trends, supplier performance, and inventory levels to identify opportunities for improvement
  6. Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers, and identify and evaluate new potential suppliers
  7. Oversee the purchasing team, providing leadership, training, and performance management
  8. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to procurement

What we're looking for

  1. Minimum 5 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement management role, preferably in the manufacturing industry
  2. Strong negotiation and vendor management skills, with the ability to build and maintain productive supplier relationships
  3. Proficient in inventory management, logistics, and supply chain optimisation
  4. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions
  5. Proficient in using procurement software and technologies to streamline operations
  6. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing purchasing team
  7. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field
