Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role located in Makati for an Import and Export Associate. The Import and Export Associate will be responsible for managing import and export processes, handling documentation, liaising with customers and suppliers, coordinating shipments, and ensuring compliance with international trade regulations. Daily tasks include customer service, overseeing import/export transactions, and maintaining accurate records of all logistics activities.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge in Import, Export, and Import Export procedures
  • Experience in International Trade and regulations
  • Strong Customer Service skills
  • Excellent organizational and record-keeping abilities
  • Ability to communicate effectively with international suppliers and customers
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation
  • Bachelor's degree in International Trade, Business Administration, or related field is preferred
  • Experience in the steel industry is a plus

Key Responsibilities

Import Operations


• Coordinate with suppliers and freight forwarders for timely receipt and transport of goods


• Prepare and review import documentation (e.g., invoices, packing lists, shipping documents)


• Ensure compliance with customs regulations and secure necessary permits


• Monitor shipping schedules and track cargo movement


• Validate duties and taxes; coordinate payments with accounting


• Assist brokers with customs clearance and cargo releasing


• File claims for shortages, damages, or discrepancies

Export Operations


• Liaise with marketing and logistics teams to schedule and book shipments


• Prepare export documentation and ensure regulatory compliance


• Coordinate container inspections, cargo loading, and delivery to port


• Monitor export schedules and ensure timely dispatch


• Maintain records of export activities and communicate with international clients

Required Skills and Qualifications


• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, International Trade, or related field


• Strong understanding of import/export regulations and documentation


• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and logistics software


• Excellent communication and negotiation skills


• Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities


• Experience working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and government agencies
