We are looking for a Junior Database Engineer to join our Datastore Management Squad. In this role, you will support and enhance our database systems, ensuring high performance and reliability. You'll start by handling support requests, data exports, and query analysis, and gradually grow into broader responsibilities like database infrastructure development, cloud migration, and automation.

This is an exciting opportunity to gain exposure to modern data platforms, cloud technologies (Azure SQL, Managed Instances, Hyperscale), and automation tools, with strong support for learning and professional growth.

Responsibilities

  • Develop SQL queries, reports, and BI interfaces
  • Support cloud migration projects (Azure SQL, Managed Instance, Hyperscale SQL Database)
  • Automate database processes using scripting and modern tools
  • Troubleshoot production database issues and apply fixes
  • Gather and analyze user requirements
  • Conduct feasibility studies for new requirements
  • Maintain technical documentation for all features
  • Assist in software build, deployment, and release
  • Collaborate with Database Administrators, Software Development Managers, and Solution Architects to ensure quality deliverables

Skills & Experience Required

  • Strong T-SQL skills
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and SSRS (Reporting Services)
  • Knowledge of database health monitoring and performance tuning
  • Experience with ETL and PowerShell scripting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Team player with a proactive, solution-focused attitude

Preferred / Nice to Have:

  • Knowledge of Azure database technologies (SQL HA/DR, Managed Instances)
  • Experience with Snowflake, Airflow, Power BI, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or AWS RDS
  • Familiarity with automation and cloud data engineering practices
