Job Summary

The Head of Quality Assurance is a senior leadership role responsible for defining and executing the quality strategy across all manufacturing operations. This position ensures that products meet regulatory, customer, and internal standards through robust quality systems, continuous improvement initiatives, and effective team leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Quality Planning

  • Define and implement the overall QA strategy, policies, and procedures.
  • Lead the development and execution of quality management systems (QMS).
  • Align QA goals with business objectives and manufacturing targets.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation in quality processes.

Operational Oversight

  • Oversee all QA activities including inspections, audits, testing, and compliance.
  • Ensure quality control systems are in place and functioning effectively.
  • Monitor product quality throughout the production lifecycle.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)

Team Management

  • Build, mentor, and manage QA teams across multiple sites or departments.
  • Provide training and development opportunities for QA staff.
  • Foster a culture of quality, accountability, and excellence.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with ISO standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
  • Conduct internal and external audits.
  • Manage risk identification and mitigation strategies.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with production, engineering, supply chain, and R&D teams.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure incoming material quality.
  • Communicate quality metrics and reports to senior leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Quality Management, or related field
  • 10+ years of experience in quality assurance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Skills & Competencies
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills.
  • Deep knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality standards.
  • Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC), root cause analysis, and risk management.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with automated testing tools and continuous improvement methodologies.
