Key responsibilities include operating the equipment safely, conducting daily equipment checks, loading and unloading various vehicles, maintaining inventory records, ensuring loads are secure, and adhering to safety regulations and company policies.

Core Responsibilities

  • Operate Forklifts:

Safely and efficiently operate various types of forklifts and other industrial vehicles to transport, load, and unload materials.
- Material Handling:

Move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise and materials, ensuring they are stored correctly.
- Loading & Unloading:

Load and unload goods from trucks, rail cars, and other transport vehicles.
- Load Security:

Ensure that all loads are properly secured, balanced, and stable during transport and stacking.
- Equipment Maintenance:

Perform daily safety checks on forklifts and other equipment, report any defects, and conduct minor maintenance like cleaning, oiling, and refueling.
- Inventory Management:

Track inventory movement using radio frequency (RF) scanning equipment, maintain accurate records of shipments, and perform quality assurance checks.
- Safety Compliance:

Adhere to all company safety guidelines and OSHA standards, maintaining a clean and safe work area.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Equipment Operation: Ability to operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts and other specialized equipment.
  • Safety Awareness: Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents.
  • Inventory Management: Skills in tracking, counting, and maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Physical Stamina: Good general physical condition to perform tasks in a warehouse environment.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous about checking loads, maintaining equipment, and documenting activities.
  • Basic Math Skills: For weighing products and recording information.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in using RF scanners and other systems for tracking and inventory management.
