Engineering Supervisor

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for organizing the personnel in Maintenance section, determining the present needs and future impacts, energizing the personnel to get their tasks done and direct their work on a day-to-day to ensure that productivity, quality standards and targets are met. Also responsible for ensuring that personnel have the training, the tools and the material that they need to carry out their duties and takes action when skills and resources are inadequate or insufficient.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Reviews the Total Maintenance Schedule and ensure that projects and activities are sufficient and properly allocated within the year.

· Discuss and obtain from external suppliers and contractors the needed technical information (e.g. checklist, warranty and others), training and warranty support for machines, equipment and tools.

· Recommends and provides information and solutions to immediate superior if there are potential problems that would hamper Operations of the Resort due to maintenance issues. Initiate preventive and corrective actions in order to prevent or address these problems.

· Communicates and coordinates with interfacing departments particularly production on the schedule of preventive maintenance. Discuss and settle concerns when such activities would disrupt normal operations.

· Determine logistics and cost of resources to support maintenance projects and total preventive maintenance programs. Secure approval to obtain the needed resources.

· Monitor and direct the proper execution of the total preventive maintenance schedule and the implementation of related special projects.

· Review and establish monitoring system to properly record, track, secure and account for production machineries, equipment and other assets.

Electrical:

· Check existing electrical lines and fixtures

· Address, acts or assigned works that needs to be taken care of immediately

· Supervise and check assigned tasks, ensure they are done correctly

· Address all electrical concerns ASAP

· Check and repair electrical equipment

· Evaluate and recommend any major concerns to the General manager

· Prepare supplies and manpower requisition for the task

· Follow up on supplies and manpower requisitions

· Co-ordinate with the department concerns on electrical issues

· Do regular preventative maintenance

Plumbing:

• Check existing water system lines
• Address, acts or assigned works that need to be taken care of immediately
• Supervise and check assigned tasks, ensure they are done correctly
• Check and repair defective plumbing
• Evaluate and recommend any major concerns to the General Manager
• Prepare supplies and manpower requisition for all tasks required
• Follow up on supplies and manpower requisition
• Co-ordinate with the department concerns on all plumbing issues
• Do regular preventative maintenance

Civil Works:

• Check existing civil works
• Address acts or assigned works that needs to be taken care of immediately
• Supervise and check all assigned tasked to ensure they are done properly
• Check and repair defective civil works
• Evaluate and recommend any major concerns to the General Manager
• Prepare supplies and manpower requisition for the tasks
• Follow up on supplies and manpower requisitions
• Co-ordinated with the departments concerns on all civil works
• Do regular preventative maintenance

Gardens/Landscaping:

• Check regular garden/landscaping maintenance
• Co-ordinate with the gardener regarding garden maintenance and irrigation
• Assign tasks to garden and beach sweepers after their regular sweeping assignments
• Ensure that there is no fallen debris seen on the ground
• Regular de-nutting of coconut trees on the beach front area
• Do regular garden preventative maintenance

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

• Incumbent must be a college graduate
• Must have a knowledge of Operational duties and responsibilities
• Has leadership and management skills
• At least (3) years working experience as a supervisor in a manufacturing setting
• Has the ability to work independently
• Knowledge and experience in Plumbing, Electrical, civil works and grounds keeping
