DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for providing technical solutions as well as assistance to technicians.
- Assists in coordinating video system installation with the installation and maintenance and support teams and oversees the setup and use of video assessment systems in an effective manner.
- Performs a variety of difficult assignments associated with monitoring and controlling of complex security systems.
- Sets up and maintains multiple complex security systems.
- Analyses system faults and troubleshoots and runs diagnostic tests on operating systems and hardware to detect problems.
- Evaluates and installs developed software during various phases of testing.
- Reviews and prepares documentation for systems, tests, and installation of software. Investigates and recommends methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
- Initiates preventive maintenance on the operating systems as well as repair to system/environment problems. Administers systems/environment solutions for multiple projects with varying schedules.
- Interfaces with vendors for trouble calls. Supports the planning of system/environment requirements for individual projects.
- Ensure that Government regulations are being followed and secure pertinent permit in relation to the project.
- Installing, maintaining, repairing, and replacing security cameras, computer networks, and other equipment used in video surveillance systems.
- Monitoring the operation of security equipment for malfunctions or other problems
- Ensures that tasks are performed in an effective and cost-efficient manner.
- To ensure that at all times tools, vehicles and safety equipment are regularly maintained in good and safe working order and that test gear is regularly calibrated and labelled as required.
- When appropriate to appoint and manage sub-contractors on site ensuring their work is neat, workmanlike and conforms to all the necessary statutory regulations
- To maintain all paperwork and documentation up-to-date and to communicate appropriately with the Customer Service Administration Office to receive work and report progress in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with established procedures
- To be aware of all contract possibilities and add on business opportunities
- To observe and promote safe working practices and help maintain working areas in a tidy and workmanlike manner
- Work with other contractors to collaborate on the project
- Give direction as to the execution of the projects.
- Utilize all training, education, skill sets, knowledge, resources to ensure 100% complete customer satisfaction
- Participates in discussions with a team of technical and engineering personnel, reviewing development issues reported to assist in resolving issues
- Applies comprehensive technical knowledge to solve complex problems/tasks by interpreting manufactures manuals, schematics or similar documents
- Work requires familiarity with the interrelationship of circuits and judgment in planning work sequence and in selecting tools and test equipment.
- Ensures that comprehensive preventive and corrective maintenance activities to simulation equipment are being performed in a timely manner.
- Read and interpret procedures/ blueprints/ schematics
- Process and book all Return Material Authorizations (RMAs) and Service repairs including Trade Ins, Customer and Consignment to verify for correct quantity, correct catalogue number, and correct serial/lot number in appropriate Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
- Arrange maintenance sessions to discover and mend inefficiencies
- Keep records of repairs and fixes for future reference
- Give timely technical support and teach/train subordinates and other users as needed
- Oversee the implementation of the department's plans and programs. Identify opportunities for improvement and resolve problems.
- Oversee and manage the work of reporting staff and encourage their continuous skills and personality development. Following command responsibility, the Department Head is liable for the acts of his/her subordinates.
- Establish and enforce proper department procedures, policies and principles.
- Other tasks that may be assigned in connection with the position.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS in Computer Science, ECE, engineering or relevant field
- Proven experience in a relevant role.
- A strong sense of creativity aids in the process of thinking of new product ideas and solving problems creatively.
- Great problem-solving skills and ability to pay attention to details.
- Excellent leadership and managerial skills are also important.
- The ability to communicate well with customers, colleagues, and lower-level staff.
- Hands-on experience in managing or leading a team of employees.
- Experience with CCTV, LAN/WAN networks
- Exceptional organizing and time-management skills
- Relevant certifications will be an advantage
