POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Manager supports the Central Laundry Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations, financial performance, and client service delivery of a centralized laundry facility that caters to hotels, restaurants, hospitals, and other institutional clients. The role ensures smooth execution of operational processes, cost efficiency, and profitability while maintaining quality service and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial & Business Support
Assist in preparing and monitoring facility budgets, cost controls, and revenue targets.
Support billing, invoicing, and client account reconciliation.
Track operational costs (labor, utilities, supplies) and identify opportunities for savings.
Assist Manager in financial reporting and profitability analysis (e.g., cost per kg processed, gross margins).
2. Operations Management
Oversee day-to-day laundry operations, ensuring efficient production flow (washing, drying, ironing, folding, packing, delivery).
Monitor machine utilization, energy, and water consumption to maximize efficiency.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
Support capacity planning during peak demand from multiple industries (hospitality, healthcare, F&B).
3. Client & Service Management
Assist in maintaining client relationships and service-level compliance.
Handle client concerns, complaints, and service issues in coordination with the Manager.
- Monitor quality standards for laundry handling, especially for sensitive industries like healthcare.
4. Staff Supervision & Development
Supervise staff shifts and assign tasks to supervisors and workers.
Support recruitment, training, and performance monitoring of laundry staff.
Act as Officer-in-Charge in the absence of the Manager.
5. Reporting & Coordination
Prepare daily/weekly operational and financial performance reports for the Manager.
Coordinate with procurement for supplies, chemicals, and spare parts.
Liaise with engineering/maintenance teams for machine servicing and preventive maintenance.
QUALIFICATION:
-Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Hospitality Management, or related field.
-With 3 to 5 years of supervisory or assistant managerial experience in laundry operations, facilities or service-based industries.
