We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pre-Authorization Specialist to support our growing diagnostic imaging practice. In this critical role, you'll be responsible for obtaining pre-authorizations for MRI, CT, and DTI procedures, verifying insurance benefits, and ensuring patients are informed of their financial responsibility.

Responsibilities:

  • Review patient records, procedure codes, and diagnoses to initiate authorization requests
  • Obtain pre-authorizations through insurance portals and direct communication with payers
  • Create and manage patient charts with accurate and timely data entry
  • Verify insurance benefits, including copays, coinsurance, and deductibles
  • Calculate and communicate patients' financial responsibility prior to service
  • Coordinate with clinical and billing teams to ensure timely scheduling and payment collection

Requirements:

  • Proven experience with MRI and CT pre-authorization processes
  • Proficiency in DTI pre-authorization
  • In-depth knowledge of insurance verification and benefit structures
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Familiarity with various insurance portals and electronic health records
