Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing and implementing purchasing strategies to align with organizational goals.
  • Identify reliable suppliers for food, beverages, packaging and equipment
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts and credit terms.
  • Develop alternative suppliers to reduce rick of shortages
  • Identifying, evaluating, and selecting suppliers, negotiating contracts, and managing vendor relationships.
  • Analyzing price proposals, negotiating favorable terms, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Monitoring inventory levels, forecasting demand, and coordinating with other departments to ensure adequate stock levels.
  • Identifying areas for improvement in the purchasing process and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency.
  • Overseeing the work of buyers and purchasing agents, providing guidance and training.
  • Ensuring all purchasing activities comply with company policies and ethical standards.

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

  • Develop and monitor purchasing budgets.
  • Analyze cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality
  • Prepare reports on purchasing trends and spend analysis

TEAM & VENDORS RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT

  • Build long-term partnerships with vendors
  • Supervise purchasing staff (buyers, storekeepers)
  • Resolve dispute regarding deliveries, quality or billing

Skills and Qualifications:

Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.

Negotiation Skills:

  • Ability to negotiate favorable contracts and pricing with vendors.

Communication Skills:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with vendors, internal stakeholders, and team members.

Supply Chain Knowledge:

  • Understanding of supply chain management principles and practices.

Leadership Skills:

  • Ability to lead and motivate a team of purchasing professionals.

Industry Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with the specific industry and its procurement needs.
