Meet the team:

Join our Strategic Sourcing team at Dexcom, where we empower people to take control of diabetes by making our products more accessible and affordable. As a Category Manager / Strategic Sourcing Manager, you will play a crucial role in developing and executing world-class category strategies for various indirect categories, including Travel, Marketing Services, HR Services, Financial Services, Information Technology, and Consulting Services. Our team thrives on collaboration, innovation, and building strong partnerships with stakeholders and suppliers to drive business growth.

Where you come in:

• You will establish long-term strategies for cost improvement among Strategic Sourcing categories, collaborating with multi-functional stakeholders.
• You are accountable for achieving annual savings and avoidance targets, independently verified with internal finance partners.
• You will research, synthesize, and articulate longer-term market and technology trends related to the category.
• You will maximize value while mitigating risk on Dexcom business using quantitative and qualitative methods.
• You will manage the entire Procurement lifecycle, from defining stakeholder requirements to executing contracts and establishing purchase orders.
• You will foster strong cross-functional relationships as a business partner, ensuring the needs of the business are understood and supported.
• You will assure continuity of supply of goods or services, identifying risks and mitigation strategies.
• You will build and maintain multi-year support roadmaps for all key suppliers, always planning for the next stage of Dexcom's growth.
• You will establish operational objectives and work plans to meet the function's long-term plans.
• You will proactively develop and maintain a supplier portfolio to support key IT categories.
• You will perform cost and scenario analysis and benchmarking.
• You will manage vendor contracts for key IT procurement-related categories.
• You will conduct periodic Business Partner and Supplier business reviews.
• You will support Responsible Sourcing initiatives tied to Small and Diverse Supplier development, Risk Management, and Sustainability initiatives.
• You will define and report on key metrics that measure the effectiveness of supply and cost savings.
• You are responsible for leading the assigned category sourcing team and aligning their functional goals.
• You are accountable for the team's performance and compliance with Dexcom's policies and processes.

What makes you successful:

• You are willing to work during the US working hours (Pacific Standard Time zone).
• You have a proven track record as a strategic sourcing professional with in-depth knowledge of strategic sourcing concepts and best practices.
• You bring 8+ years of expertise in sourcing and category management, particularly in IT Sourcing categories and technologies such as Hardware, Software, ERP, WMS, Telco, Data Services, IaaS, PaaS, Google Cloud, AWS, Consulting, and System Integrators.
• You have experience leading sourcing events (RFI's, RFP's, etc.).
• Your advanced negotiation and networking skills set you apart.
• You possess strong knowledge of industry contract terms and practices.
• You can effectively influence others and manage sensitive situations.
• You navigate and perform at a high level in a matrix organization.
• You can build a quantitative and qualitative business case, articulate it effectively, and gain support from senior leadership.
• You have a proven track record of delivering results while working cross-functionally.
• Your strong financial analysis, market analysis, and strategic planning skills are essential.
• You combine vision, ingenuity, and strong business acumen with well-developed project management and leadership skills.
• You build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, establishing "Trusted Advisor" status.
• Your organizational and time management skills help you meet deadlines.
• You have a track record of success leading and participating in cross-functional improvement efforts, including creating process diagrams, analyzing workflows, and developing standard operating procedures.
• You have mastery of Excel and PowerPoint.
• You are customer service-oriented.
• Your high competency with problem-solving and self-motivation helps you overcome challenges and obstacles.
• You have knowledge and understanding of Six Sigma and Lean principles.
• You have practical knowledge of eProcurement systems functionality and capabilities.
• Your sound judgment, excellent written/verbal communication skills, and ability to extract insights from data are keys to success in this role.

Experience and Education Requirements:

• Typically requires a Bachelor's degree with 8-12 years of industry experience
• 2-5 years of previous management or lead experience
