Job Summary:
The Billing & Collection Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations of the billing and collections functions, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with internal policies and external regulations. This role is responsible for managing a team, resolving complex billing issues, improving collection processes, and driving performance to meet financial targets. The ideal candidate combines leadership, analytical, and communication skills with a strong understanding of billing systems and collection practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor invoicing processes to ensure timely and accurate billing to clients/customers
- Supervise and support the billing and collections team in daily operations
- Oversee the collection of outstanding receivables and implement strategies to minimize delinquency
- Resolve escalated billing disputes and payment discrepancies
- Prepare and analyze aging reports and key collection metrics
- Develop and enforce policies and procedures related to billing and collections
- Collaborate with sales, customer service, and finance teams to address client account issues
- Train and mentor staff, conduct performance evaluations, and support team development
- Recommend and implement process improvements to streamline operations
- Recommend accounts for escalation, legal action, or write-off as necessary
- Ensure proper document filing of the billing department and meets its goals and deadline as a team
- Representative for 3rd party for legal actions for delinquent accounts
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in billing, collections, or accounts receivable.
- 1–2 years of supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of billing systems, AR processes, and financial reporting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
