Overview:

The Digital Product Owner drives the end‑to‑end vision, strategy, and delivery of digital products that bring UNO's customer journeys to life. This role blends customer insight, business strategy, and technology to create seamless, intuitive, and high‑impact digital experiences. Working closely with cross‑functional teams, the Product Owner ensures every feature delivers value, strengthens customer engagement, and aligns with UNO's mission to make financial services simple, accessible, and inclusive.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategy & Product Direction

  • Stay on top of market and competitor activity across pricing, legislation, technology, and customer trends.
  • Evaluate whether to build or buy new product features and services.
  • Initiate customer and market research to uncover insights and shape future enhancements.
  • Design product, channel, pricing, and experience strategies grounded in UNO's brand promise and ideal customer journey.
  • Translate strategy into actionable product and process policies aligned with:
  • Product assortment and roadmap
  • IT architecture and operational capabilities
  • Regulatory requirements
  • Process design principles
  • Drive end‑to‑end delivery as the Product Owner—monitor squad progress, adjust priorities, and ensure alignment with the Tribe Lead.
  • Own and manage the product backlog, balancing customer value, business impact, and delivery feasibility.

2. Customer Journey & Experience Optimization

  • Map, design, and continuously improve customer journeys using CX data, UX insights, and tech landscape understanding.
  • Identify friction points and opportunities, then translate these into enhancements that uplift customer experience.

3. Product & Service Management

  • Develop and evolve compelling, compliant value propositions across the customer lifecycle.
  • Oversee processes linked to product onboarding, servicing, and everyday sales.
  • Respond to urgent incidents and lead resolution efforts.
  • Implement structural improvements to processes flagged through customer or operational insights.
  • Manage product‑related risks and ensure adherence to requirements set by regulators, suppliers, and internal controls.

4. Channel & Segment Performance

  • Apply marketing and communication best practices to optimize digital channels and/or segment strategies.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of customer behavior to recommend improvements to digital journeys and engagement flows.

5. Business‑to‑IT Delivery

  • Maintain strong knowledge of the business domain, underlying application architecture, and technologies supporting the product.
  • Partner closely with IT Engineers to translate business and customer needs into functional features.
  • Ensure proper representation of the product in cross‑functional discussions and governance forums.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, or related fields.
  • 5 years of experience in business analysis, business systems, or journey mapping—preferably in a digital, banking, or fintech environment.

Technical Competencies

  • Strong understanding of banking processes, integrations (front‑to‑back), and system flows.
  • Experience working with Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Actively contributes to Agile ceremonies (planning, grooming, retros, demos) and champions continuous improvement.
