Specific Responsibilities:

1. Engineering Oversight

  • Lead and supervise the engineering team on project activities, ensuring quality, safety, and timeline adherence.
  • Coordinate technical input, drawing reviews, and construction methodologies as required for project execution.
  • Monitor and report on site progress, including resolution of technical issues and engineering challenges.
  • Ensure that all engineering activities comply with local codes, client specifications, and project standards.

2. Office Management

  • Set up and manage the day-to-day operations of the project office in the Philippines, including facilities, IT, HR, and administration.
  • Implement systems and procedures to support operational efficiency and team productivity.
  • Act as a local liaison for head office and project stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with local employment laws, tax, and regulatory requirements in office administration.

3. Team Leadership

  • Recruit, onboard, and manage local staff as needed for the engineering and administrative teams.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and performance oversight to staff in the Philippines office.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

4. Project Coordination

  • Collaborate closely with the Dublin-based leadership team to align local operations with global project goals.
  • Participate in scheduling, procurement planning, and reporting to ensure smooth execution of the project.
  • Provide visibility into project risks and recommend mitigation strategies.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

  • Oversee engineering deliverables and ensure adherence to technical and safety standards.
  • Manage all aspects of office administration including logistics, local procurement, and resource allocation.
  • Facilitate communication between local teams and head office.
  • Ensure statutory compliance and local governance practices are followed.
  • Track project performance metrics and prepare regular reports for the Group Board of Management.

Qualifications

  • A senior-level engineer with 10+ years of project experience, preferably in Oil and Gas, infrastructure or industrial projects.
  • Proven experience in office management or operations in an international project setting.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with local regulations in the Philippines is a strong advantage.
  • Willingness to be based in the Philippines
