Job Description

The Quality Control Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all construction activities meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. The role involves close coordination with project teams, subcontractors, and clients to maintain consistent quality performance across all stages of civil infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, tunnels, and other large-scale public works.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and implement quality control activities throughout all phases of infrastructure projects.
  • Review and prepare technical proposals, inspection plans, and construction methodologies to ensure compliance with design and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, material testing, and quality checks at key stages of construction.
  • Identify non-conformances, recommend corrective actions, and ensure proper implementation and follow-up.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager, Site Engineers, and construction teams to ensure all works meet quality and safety standards.
  • Manage and maintain inspection reports, test results, and documentation related to quality control activities.
  • Participate in coordination meetings with subcontractors, consultants, and clients to align quality practices and expectations.
  • Support internal and external audits and contribute to continuous process improvements in quality management.
  • Ensure all QC activities comply with the company's global quality assurance system and local regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field.
  • 8–10 years of relevant experience in civil infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, tunnels, or similar works).
  • Proven experience in Quality Control and Quality Assurance within the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of materials testing, construction specifications, and QA/QC documentation.
  • Ability to prepare and review technical and construction documents independently.
  • Excellent coordination, analytical, and communication skills with both site and office teams.
  • Experience in working with Japanese or other multinational construction firms is an advantage.
  • Must be a licensed Civil Engineer.
