Position Summary:

The QA/QC Engineer is responsible for overseeing and implementing the Quality Assurance and Quality Control plans and procedures at the project site. This role ensures that construction works meet contractual requirements, design specifications, codes, and industry standards. The QA/QC Engineer collaborates closely with site engineers, contractors, and consultants to ensure quality deliverables are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and monitor QA/QC procedures and inspection plans across project phases.
  • Review and verify project drawings, technical specifications, and method statements for compliance.
  • Conduct inspections and tests on materials, equipment, and workmanship to ensure conformance to approved standards.
  • Prepare and maintain inspection and test plans (ITPs), material submittals, and QA/QC reports.
  • Issue Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), track corrective actions, and ensure resolution of quality issues.
  • Coordinate with site engineers and subcontractors to resolve quality-related concerns.
  • Assist in internal and external audits and ensure compliance with ISO 9001:2015 standards.
  • Maintain a comprehensive QA/QC documentation system, including test results, certifications, and inspection logs.
  • Liaise with third-party inspectors, testing laboratories, and regulatory agencies as needed.
  • Conduct quality toolbox talks and training to promote a quality-driven culture on site.
  • Ensure that all quality control activities are aligned with HNL Beyond Construction's project goals and quality policies.

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related engineering discipline.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • QA/QC-related training (e.g., Construction Quality Management, Materials Testing)
  • Licensed Civil Engineer (or equivalent professional license) is an advantage

Experience:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of QA/QC experience in the construction industry
  • Experience with high-end projects/interior fit-outs preferred

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of construction quality standards, materials, and inspection techniques
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and construction quality management software
  • Excellent analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily site-based with occasional office coordination
  • PPE required while performing site inspections
  • May involve extended hours or weekend work during peak phases
