Job Summary:
The IPQC Inspector is responsible for monitoring and ensuring the quality of products during the manufacturing process in a plastic injection molding environment. This role focuses on in-process inspection, defect detection, and compliance with quality standards to maintain product reliability and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-process inspections at specified intervals during production.
- Verify product dimensions and specifications using appropriate measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.).
- Monitor molding parameters to ensure they meet approved settings and quality requirements.
- Perform visual inspection for surface defects (short shot, flash, sink marks, burn marks, etc.).
- Record inspection results in IPQC check sheets and quality reports.
- Communicate non-conformities immediately to production and QA supervisor for corrective action.
- Segregate and label non-conforming products for proper disposition.
- Ensure compliance with work instructions, SOPs, and quality standards (ISO, customer requirements).
- Support line clearance and start-up approval before production runs.
- Participate in root cause analysis and assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the inspection area and ensure proper handling of measuring instruments.
Qualifications:
- At least High School Graduate or Technical/Vocational Graduate (preferably in industrial, mechanical, or quality-related courses).
- 1–2 years experience in IPQC or QA in a plastic injection molding company (preferred but not mandatory).
- Knowledge of basic measuring instruments and inspection techniques.
- Understanding of plastic injection molding defects and processes.
- Attention to detail and ability to work under minimal supervision.
- Willing to work on shifting schedules.
Skills Required:
- Basic understanding of ISO 9001 and/or IATF 16949 quality standards.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Accuracy of inspection reports and data recording.
- Compliance with inspection schedules and frequency.
- Number of defects detected in-process vs. after production (early detection rate).
- Timeliness in reporting non-conformities to prevent further defects.
- Reduction in customer complaints and internal rejections related to in-process inspection.
