Digital Media Designer (Blender and 3D experience) - Contractor

We're hiring multiple contract Designers for Digital Room's Digital Media team—the team that creates product and product-spec imagery for our online printing brands (like , , and ).

Reporting to the Digital Media Art Director, the Digital Media Designer will design realistic product mockup compositions in two steps: (1) the design on the product (e.g., a postcard) and (2) the product in a physical space (e.g., a stack of postcards at a café checkout). Candidates should have a solid grasp of graphic design principles and be able to follow our various brand style guides. Experience in mockup creation, basic image manipulation, typography, and marketing design is required.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Solid experience with Blender and 3D rendering workflows
  • A sharp eye for detail—especially in perspective, color, and lighting
  • Proven talent in designing realistic and visually compelling product mockups
  • Strong conceptual thinking and creative problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Basic copywriting ability to support visual concepts
  • Flexibility to take on other creative tasks as assigned
  • Comfortable working in a Mac OS environment

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field, such as Graphic or Digital design, Communication Science, Marketing, etc.

Skills, Experience, Knowledge

  • 3+ years' experience as a Digital Media Designer / Graphic Designer / 3-D Designer
  • Demonstrated ability to produce meaningful and effective design artifacts
  • Ability to conceptualize and communicate visually
  • Solid problem-solving skills with independent self-direction coupled with an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication
  • Proficiency in a variety of design tools such as Adobe CS
