Collections & Royalty Monitoring Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

Collections & Accounts Receivable

  • Proactively collect overdue balances from clients, partners, and licensees according to contractual terms and credit policies.
  • Monitor and maintain the accounts receivable ledger, including invoice tracking, installment plans, and settlement agreements.
  • Initiate follow-ups via calls, emails, and formal notices; escalate delinquent accounts as necessary.

Royalty & Commission Monitoring

  • Track and validate royalties or commissions in line with licensing, partnership, or distribution agreements.
  • Ensure accurate computation, invoicing, and remittance of revenue-sharing obligations.
  • Reconcile reported earnings and payments, resolving any discrepancies or disputes.

Reconciliations & Reporting

  • Reconcile incoming payments across bank accounts, payment processors, and internal systems.
  • Investigate variances between payments and invoices, coordinating resolution with internal teams.
  • Prepare regular financial and operational reports, including aging reports, collections KPIs, and royalty/commission reconciliations.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Legal, Sales, and Licensing teams to address contract discrepancies, billing issues, or delayed payments.
  • Support Finance and Management with audit requests, internal controls, and compliance checks.

Process Improvement & Documentation

  • Recommend improvements to collection workflows, invoicing cadence, and payment methods.
  • Maintain organized documentation, including contracts, amendments, payment proofs, and correspondence records.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, data privacy laws, and company policies.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field
  • 2 - 5 years of experience in collections, AR, royalty tracking, or revenue operations
  • Familiarity with royalty, licensing, or commission-based agreements strongly preferred
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • High attention to detail and a strong sense of accountability
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines

Preferred Skills & Attributes:
  • Experience in industries like media, entertainment, publishing, SaaS, or licensing
  • Understanding of legal/contractual terms related to revenue sharing
  • Process-oriented with a mindset for continuous improvement
  • Comfortable working across teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
