About the Role

We're looking for a Staff Accountant who is eager to develop their skills in construction accounting and contribute to building financial clarity for our clients.

In this role, you'll support the accounting team by managing daily transactions, assisting with reconciliations, and preparing accurate reports to help ensure smooth financial operations.

You'll work closely with the Director of Operations, Controller, and client teams, gaining valuable exposure to construction-specific accounting practices and systems.

What You'll Do

Work Performance

• Process and record daily accounting transactions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.

• Assist with maintaining the general ledger and job costing entries to ensure accurate project financial tracking.

• Support month-end and year-end closing activities by preparing schedules and reconciliations.

• Help prepare financial statements and reports with guidance from senior staff.

• Collaborate with client teams and internal departments to resolve discrepancies and ensure data accuracy.

• Assist with tracking budget-to-actual performance and project profitability under supervision.

• Contribute to improving accounting processes and tools to increase efficiency and clarity.

• Uphold client's commitment to accuracy, timeliness, and exceptional client service in all tasks.

Software Expertise

We believe the right systems drive clarity and control. The ideal candidate will have experience with:

• Accounting Platforms: Foundation, Sage 50/100/300, Acumatica, Quickbooks.

• Construction Accounting Tools: Experience with job costing, WIP tracking, and project management integrations (e.g., Buildertrend, Procore, CMiC, or similar).

• Data & Reporting Tools: Proficiency with Excel, and reporting dashboards (Fathom, Power BI, or similar).

• Automation & Workflow Systems: Familiarity with tools like Dext, , and Gusto for streamlining operations.

• Comfort learning and optimizing new technologies to improve accuracy, efficiency, and visibility across client accounts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; recent graduates encouraged to apply.

• 1–3 years of accounting experience.

• Basic understanding of accounting principles and eagerness to learn construction-specific accounting.

• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.

• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and willingness to learn accounting software tools.

• Positive, proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement.

Software Expertise

We believe the right systems drive clarity and control. While training is provided, familiarity with the following is a plus:

• Accounting Platforms: QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, or similar cloud-based systems.

• Construction Tools: Exposure to Buildertrend, Procore, or CMiC is beneficial but not required.

• Data & Reporting: Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets.

• Automation & Workflow: Tools like Dext, , or Gusto a bonus.
