I. JOB OBJECTIVE/S
To provide efficient legal and administrative support to the legal department.
II. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Principally assists the department head on his/her functions;
Receives incoming calls and mails and maintains calendar of cases and meetings and reminds the department head of said cases and meetings.
Attends to clerical works such as drafting, typing, photocopying or scanning of documents and simple requests for standard forms or formats.
In-charge of the safe keeping of the department and company's legal or confidential documents.
Organize and maintain documents in a paper or electronic filing systems.
Maintaining and filing corporate records, including resolutions, board of director changes, articles of incorporation, general information sheets, etc.
Conduct background study of the cases referred to the Legal Department;
Preparation and review of simple contracts and legal correspondences and forms, such as Board Resolutions;
Legal Research and sourcing of information;
Review contracts and ensure that appropriate contractual protection for the Company is in place as to ensure that contracts reflect the commercial terms agreed, terms and conditions are fair, clear and transparent and to assist the business to manage legal risk, having due regard to the requirement to treat customers fairly; and
Monitor measure and report on any legal issues, opportunities and development in a timely manner.
III. QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 2 years experience as Paralegal or with experience as liaison in law firm, as staff legal department of a corporation, or as clerk of court.
- Preferably graduate of Law.
- Bar passer is an advantage but not required.
- Business management courses can apply but expose to contracts.
- With law background, experience in paralegal works, initiative, and resourceful.
- Can handle contracts and legal cases.
