About the role

A TSG Head in construction is responsible for ensuring the smooth and accurate execution of all technical aspects of a project, from planning to completion. This involves managing drawings, specifications, and other technical documentation, collaborating with various stakeholders, and resolving any technical issues that may arise.

Duties and Responsibilities:

· Documentation Management: Ensuring the accurate and organized management of all technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and other related documents.

· Plan Review and Coordination: Reviewing architectural, structural, and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) plans, ensuring they are accurate and aligned with project requirements.

· Technical Issue Resolution: Identifying and resolving any discrepancies or design issues between different disciplines.

· Collaboration with Stakeholders: Working closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure technical consistency and project success.

· Drawing Management: Supervising the preparation of body plans, setting-out plans, shop drawings, as-built drawings, and other technical documentation.

· Technical Meetings: Attending and potentially leading technical meetings to discuss project progress and address any technical challenges.

· Cost Control and Value Engineering: Reviewing estimates and recommending cost-saving measures or value engineering opportunities.

· Field Execution Support: Providing technical support and guidance during the field execution of the project.

· Project Closeout:Conducting a final review of as-built drawings before project closeout to ensure accuracy.

· Devises and uses fruitful sourcing strategies

· Discovers profitable suppliers and initiate business and organization partnerships

· Negotiates with external vendors to secure advantageous terms

· Approves the ordering of necessary goods and services

· Finalizes purchase details of orders and deliveries

· Examines and test existing contracts

· Tracks and reports key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness

· Collaborates with key persons to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company

· Foresees alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and clients

· Expects unfavorable events through analysis of data and prepare control strategies

· Performs risk management for supply contracts and agreements

· Controls spend and build a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs

· Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains staff in the department.

· Oversees the daily workflow of the department.

· Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.

· Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

· Establishes, implements, and communicates the strategic direction of Procurement Department.

· Collaborates with executive leadership to develop and meet company goals while supplying expertise and guidance on operations projects and systems.

· Collaborates with other divisions and departments to carry out the organization's goals and objectives.

· Identifies, recommends, and implements new processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline organizational processes and use of resources and materials.

· Ensures that departmental decisions and project plans such as those for staffing, development, organization, material efficiency, hardware acquisitions, and facilities are in line with the organizations business plan and vision.

· Establishes, communicates, and implements operations-related policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent support and execution.

· Reviews and approves cost-control reports, cost estimates, and staffing requirements for projects.

· Establishes and administers the department's budget.

· Presents periodic performance reports and metrics to the CFO and other leadership.

Identifies training needs and ensures proper training is developed and provided.

Minimum Job Qualifications:

· Education:A Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, supply chain management, or a related field is typically required

· Experience:Several years of experience in the construction industry, particularly in a technical role, is essential.

· Technical Skills:Proficiency in relevant software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit), a strong understanding of building codes and regulations, and experience with various construction processes and materials.

· Soft Skills:Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills are crucial for effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders.

· Project Management Skills:Experience in managing technical aspects of construction projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.

· Proven working experience as a Procurement Manager, Procurement Officer or Head of Procurement

· Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques as well as a dexterity in "reading" the market

· Talent in negotiations and networking

· Good knowledge of supplier or third party management

· Aptitude in decision-making and working with numbers

· Experience in collecting and analyzing data

· Strong leadership capabilities

· Proficient computer skills.

· Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.

· Outstanding leadership, organizational, multitasking and problem-solving skills.
