The primary job responsibility of an Accounting Assistant is to secure revenue by verifying and posting receipts, and resolving any discrepancies. This role requires candidates to be organized and have a keen eye for detail to spot any issues that may arise.

Payments: handles expenditures by obtaining, processing and validating invoices. He/She harmonizes processed work by validating entries and differentiating balances from system reports. Also give support to an organization's accounting unit with principles that operate effectively and precisely.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Customer Master Maintenance
  • Ensure that all invoices are properly recorded and on time
  • Daily sales update to aid treasury on their daily cash flow
  • Accounts Receivable reconciliation
  • Matching of Payment to invoice
  • Recording of all claims and deductions related to trade collections.
  • Preparation of Debit and Credit Memo related to trade collections and claims.
  • Identify and execute the necessary process adjustments.
  • Reconcile A/R to the G/L
  • Interact with customers to resolve outstanding issues
  • Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
  • Prioritize invoices according to cash discount potential and payment terms
  • Process check requests
  • Audit and process credit card bills
  • Match invoices to checks, obtain all signatures for checks and distribute checks accordingly
  • Respond to all vendor inquiries
  • Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies
  • Monitor and assist in filing and monitoring BIR/Tax requirements.
  • Assist in month end closing
  • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
  • Assist with other projects as needed

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of Accounting Principles.
  • Knowledgeable in NAV system or any accounting system, an advantage
  • Team player with the ability to learn quickly and the capacity to multi-task
  • Must be able to work in a challenging and dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in using computer applications such as Microsoft Windows; Advance Excel skills (Pivot/VLOOKUP-up/Formulas/Shortcuts)
  • Must have very good interpersonal skills
