The Business Development Officer plays a pivotal role in leading the expansion of the brand through effective identification, evaluation, onboarding, and support of qualified franchisees and co-owner partners. The Business Development Officer plays a critical role in achieving the company's growth targets through franchising and co-ownership models.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Oversight
· Ensure all franchised restaurants operate in line with brand standards, company policies, and health & safety regulations.
· Conduct routine audits and store visits to monitor compliance and performance.
Franchise Business Development
· Identify and pursue potential franchisees through lead generation, inquiries, marketing campaigns, and industry events.
· Conduct franchise presentations, orientations, and exploratory meetings with prospects.
· Evaluate franchise applicants' qualifications, financial capacity, and operational readiness.
· Coordinate franchisee due diligence, documentation, and contract signing processes.
· Collaborate with legal and finance teams for the preparation and execution of Franchise Agreements.
Co-Ownership Development
· Promote the co-ownership model as a business investment opportunity.
· Screen and assess potential co-owners based on investment capacity and alignment with brand values.
· Prepare co-ownership proposals, financial projections, and return-on-investment estimates.
· Facilitate business discussions and finalization of Co-Ownership Agreements.
Strategic Growth Planning
· Contribute to the company's national and regional expansion strategy.
· Identify key locations, demographics, and trade areas suitable for franchise or co-owned outlets.
· Analyze market trends and competitor movements to inform growth plans.
Onboarding and Transition
· Coordinate with internal departments (Operations, Training, Construction, Legal) for seamless onboarding of new partners.
· Ensure franchisees and co-owners receive the necessary support during pre-opening and grand opening phases.
· Monitor compliance with pre-opening timelines and requirements.
Partner Relations and Support
· Maintain relationships with existing franchisees and co-owners to foster long-term engagement.
· Assist in resolving franchise partner issues in coordination with relevant departments.
· Recommend initiatives to improve franchisee satisfaction, profitability, and performance.
Marketing and Lead Generation
· Plan and implement campaigns, roadshows, online initiatives, and investor events to attract new partners.
· Work closely with the marketing team to develop materials tailored for franchise and co-ownership promotion.
Reporting and Documentation
· Maintain accurate records of leads, prospects, and conversion statuses.
· Submit regular reports on business development KPIs, deal pipeline, and expansion progress.
· Ensure all documentation related to partnerships are complete, up-to-date, and filed properly.
Key Skills and Competencies
· Strong negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills
· Deep understanding of franchise business models and investment structures
· Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
· Business acumen and financial literacy
· Goal-driven with the ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines
