Duties and Responsibilities

  • Transaction Handling: Receive payments via cash, card, or digital methods; issue receipts and change.
  • Order Processing: Input customer orders accurately into the POS system.
  • Customer Interaction: Greet customers, answer questions, and resolve minor complaints.
  • Cash Drawer Management: Count cash at start/end of shift; reconcile discrepancies.
  • Refunds and Voids: Process returns and exchanges per company policy.
  • Promotions and Upselling: Inform customers of deals and suggest additional items.
  • Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain a tidy cashier station and sanitize surfaces.
  • Compliance: Follow company procedures for cash handling, safety, and data privacy.

Qualifications

  • At least a college graduate or equivalent.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic quickly and accurately.
  • Friendly, patient, and professional demeanor.
  • Accuracy in handling cash, receipts, and orders.
  • Clear verbal communication and active listening.
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale terminals and software.
  • Trustworthy with money and sensitive information.
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
