Work Description – Regional Sales EngineerPosition Overview
The Regional Sales Engineer is responsible for driving business growth within an assigned territory by promoting and selling Metro Power's portfolio of energy solutions—including Electric Meters, Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Solutions, and Microgrid technologies. The role focuses on building and maintaining strong relationships with Electric Cooperatives (ECs), private utilities, and accredited contractors, ensuring that Metro Power remains a trusted partner in the modernization of the power and energy sector.
Key Responsibilities1. Sales & Business Development
- Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve regional sales targets for meters, AMI, BESS, EV chargers, and microgrid projects.
- Identify, prospect, and build relationships with Electric Cooperatives (ECs), private utilities, and contractors involved in infrastructure development.
- Prepare and deliver client presentations, product demonstrations, and technical discussions tailored to customer needs.
- Attend the bidding and proposal process for cooperative projects, ensuring compliance with procurement rules (RA 9184, NEA guidelines).
2. Account Management
- Maintain a pipeline of opportunities and regularly update management on progress, risks, and wins.
- Provide continuous client engagement through site visits, courtesy calls, and regular communication.
- Act as the primary point of contact for client accounts in the region, addressing inquiries, technical clarifications, and contract negotiations.
- Strengthen long-term customer partnerships through after-sales support, ensuring reliability and trust.
3. Technical Knowledge & Solution Selling
- Develop expertise in the technical features and benefits of Metro Power's solutions.
- Translate customer challenges into tailored solutions, highlighting value-add such as efficiency, cost savings, compliance, and future-readiness.
- Collaborate with the Principal's technical team (Comcore, Bescore, Techene) to align solutions with client requirements.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activities.
4. Project & Contractor Engagement
- Work with contractors and system integrators to ensure Metro Power products are specified in utility and infrastructure projects.
- Provide pre-sales technical support to contractors and assist in proper installation and commissioning requirements.
- Monitor project pipelines, ensuring Metro Power products are positioned during early planning and design stages.
5. Reporting & Coordination
- Submit weekly and monthly sales activity reports, including account status, opportunities, and competitor insights.
- Coordinate with the Operations, Logistics, and Administrative teams to ensure seamless order fulfillment, delivery, and customer satisfaction.
- Support management in strategic planning by providing field intelligence and market feedback.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related technical field.
- Preferably licensed Engineer (EE/ECE), but not mandatory if with proven sales experience.
- 3–5 years of experience in technical sales, preferably in the power/energy/utilities sector.
- Strong knowledge of electric cooperative operations, energy infrastructure, and procurement processes.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned region.
- Results-driven, self-motivated, and able to work independently while coordinating with the head office.
Performance Metrics (KPIs)
- Achievement of quarterly and annual sales targets.
- Growth of accounts within the assigned region.
- Successful participation and wins in EC biddings and contractor projects.
- Customer satisfaction and retention levels.
- Accuracy and timeliness of sales reports and forecasts.
