Position Summary

The Revenue Cycle Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end medical billing process for multiple providers while supporting and coordinating closely with the Revenue Cycle Manager. This position ensures timely billing, accurate claims submission, and efficient payment posting. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader, high energy, a Subject Matter Expert (SME) with deep knowledge of billing systems and insurance regulations, and excels in communication, multitasking, and technical accuracy. This position requires close over-sight of the team, ensuring all projects and daily work is done timely and within the guidelines of the SOP/SOW. Also monitoring the team to ensure they are updating their SOP and producing videos for the task and accounts they work on. Must have excellent English and grammar as they will be communicating with American clients via phone, video call and email.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage daily operations of the billing team, maintaining accountability and performance.
  • Collaborate closely with the RCM Manager to address client issues and provide full account status updates or RCM Manager, Owner, and Client.
  • Track all current projects to ensure timely completion and accurate outcomes.
  • Communicate professionally with providers through email, text, phone, Zoom, and Skype.
  • Complete data entry and charge entry using various billing platforms.
  • Ensure timely billing submissions within 24–48 hours of service receipt.
  • Resolve claims issues and maintain accurate tracking of claim statuses.
  • Post patient payments and balances promptly and accurately.
  • Verify correct CPT codes, diagnosis codes, and modifiers are used.
  • Work through clearinghouse and payer rejections daily.
  • Maintain multiple provider spreadsheets and organize relevant account data.
  • Create Statements of Work (SOWs) and onboarding videos for new billing clients.
  • Support projects and billing tasks across multiple providers.
  • Ensure cross-departmental coordination for effective revenue cycle operations.

Required Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 3–5 years of leadership experience in a healthcare or insurance billing setting.
  • At least 2 years' experience in healthcare billing or administrative work in insurance.
  • Minimum 1 year of virtual assistant (VA) experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with billing regulations (CPT, ICD-9/10, HCFA 1500, HIPAA, etc.).
  • Strong communication skills—both verbal and written.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with strong attention to detail.

Education

  • Minimum 2 years of college education or relevant certification in billing or administration.

Technical Proficiency

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, including pivot tables.
  • Experienced in multiple EHR/EMR systems, specifically:

Medisoft, Practice Suite, Simple Practice, Theranest, and AdvancedMD.
