Solicitor

Work Location: San Antonio, Makati City

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 12NN to 9PM

Work Setup: Hybrid (2x WFH, 3x Onsite)

Role Outline:

The Solicitor will provide essential legal advice and support, focusing on UK law and regulations, to various business units. This role is ideal for a proactive and detail-oriented legal professional with a strong understanding of financial services and corporate law. You will play a crucial part in ensuring the company's legal compliance and managing legal risks.

Key Area of Responsibilities:

• Provide timely and accurate legal advice on a broad range of UK legal matters, including corporate law, commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, and employment law. This includes drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of agreements and legal documents.
• Monitor changes in UK legal and regulatory frameworks, particularly those relevant to the financial services industry. You will help ensure the company's policies and procedures are compliant with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with business operations. This involves conducting legal due diligence and providing counsel on risk management strategies. You will also assist in managing any legal disputes or litigation.
• Work closely with senior leadership, compliance officers, and other departments to provide legal support for business initiatives and projects. Effective communication is key to translating complex legal concepts into clear, actionable advice for non-legal colleagues.
• Maintain accurate and organized legal documentation and files. You will also be responsible for preparing and delivering regular reports on legal matters and compliance status to management.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Completion of a Juris Doctor (J.D.) or Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) degree from a law school recognized by the Legal Education Board in the Philippines. You must have passed the Philippine Bar Examination and be a member of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP).
• A minimum of 3-5 years of post-qualification experience working in-house or with a reputable law firm, with significant exposure to corporate or financial services law, real estate law.
• With experience in the real estate industry.
• Strong understanding of UK corporate governance principles, financial regulations (e.g., FCA rules), and commercial contract law.
• Prior experience working with a UK-based company or in the financial services sector is highly desirable.
• Experience with financial products, data protection (e.g., UK GDPR), or intellectual property law is a plus.
• Exceptional legal research and writing skills. Proficiency in legal databases and Google Workspace.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with meticulous attention to detail. You must be an effective communicator and be able to work independently as well as part of a remote team.
• Keen interest in working in an AI and technology landscape and using these resources in field of legal and compliance
• Experience in lending and offshore structures, exposure in the international financial world
