You will be directly reporting to the General Manager Business Services (GM), with our Internal Audit & Risk Officer reporting to you. Your overall objective is to support our business, both strategically and operationally, in legal matters, projects, and governance oversight.

You will ensure that all the company's activities and transactions comply with legal requirements and actively assist the company in identifying and preventing potential legal risks and violations. In addition, your duties will include representing and defending the company's interests before any governmental authorities, advising and supervising all corporate legal processes, and supporting litigation. The successful candidate will have outstanding negotiation skills and valuable corporate practice, as well as attention to detail.

What does the role involve? Represent the Company with the SEC, NLRC, LGUs, BIR, PEZA, and other governmental and regulatory bodies, ensuring that the interest of the Company is well protected at all times. Responsible for the management of all legal cases of all Companies within the Group pertaining to corporate, labor, tax/tariff, insurance, and rehabilitation matters.

This may include attending meetings, negotiations, mediations, and hearings. Complete support of corporate work (such as company secretary, registrations, and updates with relevant authorities). Preparation of responses to inquiries from various governmental and regulatory authorities.

Supporting and providing consultation on employment matters. Providing support on tax matters. Providing support and guidance in obtaining necessary business licenses, permits, and certifications.

Drafting, analyzing, and negotiating various documents, such as client, vendor, employment contracts, and other documents. Conduct research and analysis and providing strategic legal or commercial advice on new projects, within the Philippines and abroad. Advising management (both orally and in writing) on all legal issues, problems, and cases.

Provide guidance and oversight on corporate governance and data privacy requirements. Oversight of the internal audit function, being accountable for the delivery of the internal audits. Assist the GM with business continuity planning (BCP) and delivery of the risk management framework.

Review policies and procedures of other departments to ensure compliance with the requirements of the law. Raise issues and matters of non-compliance with the President and GM, including suggestions on how to resolve such. Other ad hoc duties as required.

RequirementsRequired:Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience in general corporate law, contracts, tax, labor laws and regulatory compliance in the Philippines, with demonstrated knowledge in labor code, tax code and corporate laws. Strong working knowledge of key government organizations such as SEC, NLRC, LGU, BIR, PEZA will be essential. Skilled in drafting, negotiating and reviewing contracts and other legal documents.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and public speaking skills, with fluency in English. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. High degree of professional ethics and integrity.

Self-driven, takes initiative, resourceful, and can work under pressure with minimal instruction. Demonstrates good attention to detail across all areas of work. Has the ability to manage multiple tasks and assignments.

Preferred (not mandatory):Experience in BPO industry. Experience with the role of company secretary or secretary to a board or other governance bodies. OSH certifications.

Experience in multi geography locations, in particular in any of Australia, other Asia countries and South America. Competencies / Personality Traits:Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and research skills. Natural leader who displays sound judgment and attention to detail.
