The Surveyor is responsible for conducting accurate land, topographic, engineering, and construction surveys. This role ensures precise measurement and layout to support engineering design, project planning, and on-site construction activities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Field Survey Operations

  • Conduct topographic, boundary, as-built, and control surveys.
  • Perform site layout and staking for roads, buildings, utilities, pipelines, and infrastructure works.
  • Set out reference points, benchmarks, levels, and alignments according to project drawings.
  • Operate total stations, GPS RTK systems, digital levels, and data collectors.

2. Data Collection & Documentation

  • Record accurate measurements, field notes, and survey observations.
  • Download, process, and submit survey data for engineering use.
  • Verify accuracy and completeness of field data before documentation.

3. Equipment Handling

  • Maintain, check, and calibrate survey instruments.
  • Ensure all equipment is properly stored and handled.
  • Troubleshoot minor equipment issues during fieldwork.

4. Coordination & Communication

  • Coordinate with engineers, supervisors, contractors, and project managers.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and survey instructions.
  • Report discrepancies, site issues, or design conflicts immediately.

5. Compliance & Safety

  • Follow company safety policies and project-specific safety requirements.
  • Ensure survey work adheres to project specifications and standards.
  • Maintain compliance with local surveying regulations and guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • 3–5 years experience in surveying (depending on project type).
  • Strong knowledge of total stations, GPS/RTK, and digital level equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Proficiency in survey software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, etc.).
  • Good mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
