Engineering Manager

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the engineering services team on construction projects.
• Ensure the application of appropriate engineering principles, practices, and standards across all phases of construction.
• Provide technical direction, guidance, and troubleshooting support to engineering teams during all project stages.
• Collaborate with design and architecture teams to review and approve technical drawings, plans, and specifications.
• Ensure all designs align with project scope, budget, timeline, and applicable codes/regulations.
• Identify potential engineering issues early in the project cycle and develop solutions to mitigate risks.
• Supervise, mentor, and support engineering staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
• Provide training, resources, and career development opportunities for the engineering team.
• Conduct performance evaluations, set objectives, and provide feedback to team members.
• Liaise with project managers, clients, contractors, and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment between engineering services and project objectives.
• Assist in client presentations, meetings, and progress updates regarding engineering aspects of the project.
• Oversee the implementation of quality control procedures and ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
• Ensure that engineering solutions prioritize safety and environmental concerns, adhering to regulatory requirements.
• Manage and allocate engineering resources efficiently, ensuring that teams are properly staffed for project needs.
• Oversee budgeting and scheduling of engineering services, ensuring that projects are delivered within allocated resources.
• Monitor and report on project budgets, identifying and addressing potential cost overruns or delays.
• Proactively identify potential engineering and construction issues that could affect project schedules and deliverables.
• Implement effective problem-solving strategies to mitigate risks and ensure project success.
• Provide solutions to complex engineering challenges that arise during construction.
• Ensure proper documentation of engineering processes, changes, and decisions throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare technical reports and documentation for project review, stakeholder meetings, and regulatory compliance.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, Construction Engineering, or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is highly desirable.
• 8+ years of experience in engineering services within the construction industry, with a focus on construction management, project execution, or technical leadership.
• Proven experience managing teams of engineers, designers, and technical professionals.
• In-depth knowledge of construction processes, codes, and regulations.
• Prior experience working with large-scale construction projects, including residential, commercial, industrial, or infrastructure.
• Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to mentor and develop staff.
• Advanced technical knowledge of engineering principles and practices as applied to construction projects.
• Ability to review and interpret complex engineering drawings, plans, and specifications.
• Proficient in engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, MS Project).
• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and critical-thinking abilities.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• High level of attention to detail with a commitment to quality and safety.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
