For developers, Zappz unlocks new ways to reach players, increase virality, and generate revenue—without the restrictions of app stores.

We're looking for a remote Android Systems Engineer to own and optimize core parts of our technology. You'll help us push the boundaries of what's possible on web, mobile, and desktop by solving deep technical challenges at the system level.


What You'll Do
  • Customize Android OS: Design and maintain a streamlined, high-performance Android image tailored to our platform.
  • Debug & Diagnose: Investigate complex issues across OS, runtime, and graphics stack layers in virtualized environments.
  • Upgrade & Maintain: Manage Android version updates while balancing stability, new features, and performance.
  • Test & Collaborate: Work closely with our core engineering team to define and implement robust testing strategies for system components.

What We're Looking For

This is a hands-on, problem-solving role where creativity meets technical depth. The ideal candidate will have:

  • Strong experience in Android/Linux development
  • Solid understanding of the Android graphics stack

  • Bonus points for experience with:

  • OpenGL ES, WebAssembly, or WebGPU

  • Custom AOSP development (Android kernel, system services, HAL, build system, GMS)
