Brief Description

The R&D Assistant will support the team in developing new processed meat products and other food items, improving existing formulations, and ensuring product quality. This role involves conducting research, preparing samples, analyzing data, and assisting in documentation and regulatory compliance

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in product development by preparing samples and conducting laboratory tests.
  • Support research activities by gathering data, conducting experiments, and documenting results.
  • Maintain accurate records of formulations, test results, and modifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Quality Assurance, Production, and Marketing.
  • Assist in sourcing and testing raw materials for new and existing products.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure cleanliness and safety of the work area.
  • Provide technical support during product trials and pilot runs.
  • Include Process Meat Products and other food items

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Food Science, or a related field.
  • Experience in food product development, particularly in processed meat products, is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in laboratory techniques and data analysis.
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
