R&D Specialist

We are seeking a Senior Research & Development (R&D) Specialist with deep expertise in both liquid and powdered beverage formulations. This role is critical to driving innovation and ensuring technical excellence across our product lines. The ideal candidate is an industry veteran with a strong background in food science, beverage technology, and product development, capable of leading formulation projects from concept to commercialization while ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Product Development & Innovation

• Lead formulation development of liquid (RTD, concentrates, juices, functional beverages) and powdered (nutritional, fortified, instant drink mixes, probiotics) formats.
• Translate consumer insights and market trends into innovative, scalable, and cost-effective product concepts.
• Develop prototype samples, optimize taste, texture, solubility, and stability for both powder and liquid systems.
• Balance functionality, cost, and sensory profile to meet commercial requirements.

Technical Leadership

• Oversee bench-scale, pilot plant, and production-scale trials to ensure smooth technology transfer.
• Mentor and guide junior R&D staff in best practices, technical methods, and innovation strategies.
• Recommend raw materials, flavors, functional ingredients, and novel technologies that enhance product performance.

Regulatory & Compliance

• Ensure all formulations comply with Philippine FDA regulations (AO , AO , BC , etc.) and global standards.
• Prepare technical dossiers including Product Information Sheets (PIS), stability studies, and shelf-life validation.
• Partner with QA/QC to ensure labeling, claims, and nutritional information meet legal and scientific requirements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain to ensure formulations are cost-efficient and scalable.
• Support Business Development in responding to client briefs with technical feasibility and costing options.
• Coordinate with Marketing on sensory positioning and product differentiation.

Continuous Improvement

• Monitor and evaluate product performance post-launch; propose improvements in formulations, processes, or ingredients.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies, functional ingredients, and market innovations to maintain competitive edge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Chemistry, or related field.
• Minimum 7–10 years of experience in beverage R&D (both liquid and powder formats).
• Strong track record of successful product launches from concept to market.
• Deep knowledge of ingredient functionality, sensory science, stability, and processing technologies.
• Experience in working with OEM/toll manufacturing setups and scaling formulations.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance and FDA product registration requirements.
• Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
