
Business Development Manager

The Business Development Manager (BDM) leads the company's growth initiatives by developing and executing strategies to acquire new clients, expand service contracts, and strengthen the company's presence in the Integrated Facility Management (IFM) industry. This role combines strategic leadership, market analysis, and hands-on client engagement to ensure revenue growth, profitability, and long-term business sustainability.
The BDM oversees the full business development cycle — from prospecting and bidding to contract negotiation and client onboarding — while managing a team of Business Development Officers and coordinating with operations, finance, and technical departments.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Business Development
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales and market expansion strategies aligned with company goals.
- Identify and pursue high-value opportunities across commercial, industrial, healthcare, education, and government sectors.
- Lead proposal development, tender preparation, and contract negotiations for IFM services such as cleaning, maintenance, security, landscaping, pest control, and engineering.
- Analyze and optimize pricing models to maintain competitiveness and profitability.
2. Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong partnerships with key clients, developers, property managers, and procurement officers.
- Conduct regular client meetings and business reviews to assess satisfaction and identify upselling or cross-selling opportunities.
- Ensure the highest level of customer service and operational coordination post-contract award.
3. Market Research and Industry Intelligence
- Monitor IFM market trends, government regulations, and emerging technologies (e.g., sustainable operations, smart building systems).
- Conduct competitor benchmarking and identify market gaps for new service innovations.
- Provide management with reports, forecasts, and actionable insights to guide decision-making.
4. Team Leadership and Collaboration
- Supervise, mentor, and motivate Business Development Officers and other team members to achieve sales and growth targets.
- Foster collaboration with the operations, HR, and finance departments for efficient proposal execution and service delivery.
- Lead regular business development meetings, performance reviews, and pipeline updates.
5. Reporting and Performance Tracking
- Develop and monitor KPIs such as revenue growth, client acquisition rate, and bid success ratio.
- Present monthly and quarterly sales reports to management.
- Manage budgets for business development activities, marketing events, and client engagement initiatives.
