The Role

We're looking for a Mechanical Engineer who's excited to design, build, and refine components for next-generation electric vehicles. In this role, you'll work on everything from chassis and suspension to drivetrain integration and cooling systems—bringing innovative designs to life with real-world applications.

Beyond engineering, you'll also play a key role in creating technical manuals, service guides, and compliance documentation to support suppliers, workshops, and end customers. About the Client

Our client develops 100% electric light vehicles (EUVs) designed for ruggedized mining, industrial, and commercial applications. Their vehicles deliver safety, performance, and reliability to exacting industrial standards, helping clients decarbonize their sites in the toughest outdoor conditions. What You'll Do

  • Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for EVs, including chassis, suspension, drivetrain integration, and cooling systems.
  • Use CAD tools (SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo, or equivalent) for 3D modeling, tolerance analysis, and design validation.
  • Support prototype builds, fitment trials, and testing to ensure manufacturability and cost efficiency.
  • Collaborate with suppliers on fabrication, machining, and sourcing; perform DFM reviews.
  • Conduct testing for structural integrity, NVH, and thermal performance, and troubleshoot issues when needed.
  • Work closely with electrical/software teams for seamless system integration.
  • Create and maintain technical manuals, service guides, assembly instructions, and compliance documentation.
  • Develop BOMs, torque charts, work instructions, and training materials for internal and external use.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering (Master's preferred).
  • 2–6 years' experience in automotive or EV development (startup/small-scale manufacturing exposure is a plus).
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle structures, materials, and fabrication processes.
  • Hands-on experience in prototype assembly and validation testing.
  • Familiarity with thermal management, light weighting, and NVH design.
  • Experience with technical writing, service manuals, or compliance documentation is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks, CATIA, Creo) and authoring tools (Adobe FrameMaker, SolidWorks Composer, MS Office).
  • Bonus: Exposure to EV systems (battery packs, motors, cooling systems) and FEA tools (ANSYS, Altair).
