Reports To: HR Supervisor / HR Manager
About the Role
The HR Generalist plays a vital role in managing the day-to-day human resources operations of the company.
This position is responsible for executing core HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, timekeeping, payroll processing, training, and HR documentation.
The HR Generalist ensures compliance with Philippine labor laws and company policies while working closely with the HR Supervisor and HR Manager to deliver efficient and people-centered HR support across all outlets and departments.
Key Responsibilities
1. Recruitment & Onboarding
- Manage the full recruitment cycle for store and office positions, from job posting, screening, and interviewing to final selection.
- Conduct onboarding and orientation programs to ensure smooth employee integration.
- Maintain an updated applicant database and coordinate with the HR Supervisor and Operations Managers on manpower planning.
2. Employee Relations & Engagement
- Serve as a primary contact for employee inquiries, grievances, and disciplinary matters.
- Promote a positive workplace culture consistent with the company's mission and values.
- Support the implementation of employee engagement activities, recognition programs, and internal communication initiatives.
3. Timekeeping, Payroll & Benefits Administration
- Oversee attendance monitoring, leave tracking, and overtime management through HRIS or manual systems.
- Process and prepare monthly payroll accurately, ensuring proper computation of basic pay, allowances, overtime, deductions, and statutory contributions.
- Ensure compliance with DOLE labor standards and statutory benefits (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, withholding tax).
- Coordinate with Finance for timely release of employee salaries and maintain confidentiality in all payroll transactions.
4. Compliance, Documentation & HRIS Management
- Maintain accurate and updated employee 201 files, contracts, and HR-related records.
- Ensure compliance with government reporting and legal documentation requirements.
- Update and manage HRIS data integrity, generating reports and analytics to support HR decisions.
5. Training, Performance & Development
- Identify training needs and assist in organizing internal and external training programs.
- Support performance appraisal activities and KPI monitoring.
- Help foster a learning culture that encourages employee development and career growth.
6. HR Projects, Policy Implementation & Continuous Improvement
- Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring HR policies and procedures.
- Participate in HR improvement initiatives such as compensation review, retention strategies, and process automation.
- Provide data-driven insights and recommendations to HR Supervisor and HR Manager.
7. Reporting & Administrative Support
- Prepare HR reports on headcount, attendance, turnover, and payroll for management review.
- Support HR audits and compliance checks as required.
- Perform other HR-related duties and special projects as assigned.
8. Other Duties
- Perform other HR-related tasks or projects as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 2–4 years of solid HR experience, preferably in the F&B or retail industry, with hands-on experience in payroll processing.
- Strong understanding of Philippine Labor Code and statutory requirements.
- Proficient in HRIS systems, MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), and payroll computation.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Willing to work on-site in Makati City.
