About the role

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Purchasing Officer to join our team at MICRODATA SYSTEMS AND MANAGEMENT, INC.' in San Juan City, Metro Manila. This full-time role is responsible for overseeing the purchasing and procurement processes to ensure the efficient supply of materials and resources required for our manufacturing operations.

What you'll be doing

  1. Identify and evaluate suppliers to source the most cost-effective and high-quality materials and equipment
  2. Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with suppliers to secure favourable terms and delivery schedules
  3. Prepare and process purchase orders, monitor stock levels, and oversee the inventory management system
  4. Collaborate with production teams to accurately forecast material requirements and minimise lead times
  5. Maintain comprehensive records of all purchasing activities and generate reports for management
  6. Implement and enforce purchasing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations
  7. Continuously seek opportunities to improve purchasing efficiency and cost savings

What we're looking for

  1. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field
  2. Minimum 3 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably within the manufacturing industry
  3. Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders
  4. Proficient in using procurement software and inventory management systems
  5. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities
  6. Keen attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
