Manufacturing Cost Accounting Supervisor

We are looking to hire a Cost Accountant who will have a critical role and responsibility for the ongoing analysis of product cost, development of new product cost and margin analysis. This role will also work closely with the marketing, new product development, production teams and senior management to establish customer pricing and costing policy change. It is responsible for driving cost efficiencies in the manufacturing process, provides recommendations to optimize plant operations and evaluate results for continuous improvement. To ensure success in the role, the cost accountant should be meticulous and detailed oriented, highly analytical, have strong knowledge of costing principles, ability to work under pressure, with a keen interest in attaining a cost-efficient manufacturing operations, initiative to involve self in the end to end production process, eager to understand the current process to be able to provide recommendations on how to improve plant production and a good team player. The candidate should also have outstanding presentation and reporting skills, with the ability to work on his own initiative and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain and enhance the cost accounting system, documentations, and keeping track of costing records of the organization.

• Generates and analyze the monthly manufacturing (comparative with previous periods) cost report and recommend cost reduction measures or identify rooms for improvement in manufacturing cost as appropriate.

• Generate and track all product cost estimates (for new products) versus actual.

• Use appropriate costing methodologies, develops or improves upon existing cost accounting processes to provide accurate and timely financial information that will satisfy informational requirements.

• Analyze any changes in manufacturing operations (e.g. batch sizes, labor head count deployment, changes in labor hours spend, factory overhead, etc…) and cost of materials in order to determine what effect it has on the cost.

• Analyzes, examines, and interprets cost data, records and reports to determine past costs, identify improperly recorded costs, and reallocates the cost to ensure they are recorded in the appropriate cost structure.

• Updating product costs on the associated cost movement (e.g. raw materials and packaging, labor or overhead cost).

• Responsible for building up the cost sheets for new products, new product variants and to measure the cost and gross margin impact of changes in cost of raw and packaging materials.

• Provide management with periodic report that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products.

• Validate the cost of goods sold as part of the month-end financial closing process.

• Monitors and assists in implementing approved and directed procedural and cost management changes.

• Good finance business partner for Plant Operations and introduce metrics in order to identify efficiencies.

• Help to identify the optimum inventory level (RM, PM and FG) to improve Working Capital requirements pertaining to Inventory.

• Co-Lead the annual inventory count.

• Perform other tasks and assignment assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field (essential).

• Preferably a certified public accountant (CPA).

• 3 to 5 years of cost accounting work experience at a senior level(essential).

• Sound understanding of accounting principles.

• Solid cost systems background.

• Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills.

• Meticulous attention to detail with superb organizational skills.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Excellent report-writing, communication skills.

• Knowledge of general accounting principles.

• Knowledge on use of relevant accounting software (e.g., SAP Business One)

• Proficient in MS Office application (advance excel skills).

• Able to introduce improvements for better team productivity.

• Able to work closely with other departments for the improvement of production processes.

• Can be QC-based or Laguna-based

• Willing to report to Laguna office at least twice a week if QC-based; Full-time in Laguna office if Laguna-based
