IT Business Analyst

Job Overview:

Responsible for the end-to-end eliciting, articulating, and analyzing business requirements of a technology project, including providing recommendations for process improvements. Additionally, assist the project owner in clearly defining the project business benefits.

Job Responsibilities:

Business Analysis and Documentation

• Responsible for the end-to-end facilitation of the business requirements gathering and documentation in alignment with the project objectives.
• Conduct thorough analysis and articulation of business requirements, translating them into clear and actionable project scope and requirements, and ensuring alignment to the project business objectives and benefits.
• Collaborate with the Project Owner, Project Manager, and the assigned Solution Architect in translating business and functional requirements to the target solution design and technical architecture, including potential process and data integrations.
• Document the requirements into the prescribed project documentation format i.e. Business Requirements Document (BRD), Functional Requirements (FR), Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM), Business Benefits Register, etc.
• Assist the Project Manager in the approval process of the business requirement documents.
• Review and sign off documents from vendors for projects involving 3rd party vendors delivering the solution (e.g., System Definition Document, UAT Test Scripts, etc.)
• Assist in the technical evaluation of both the solution and the vendor participating in the project.
• · Assist the PM in assessing the potential impact of proposed project change requests on existing processes and design.

Quality Assurance and Project Support

• Contribute to the project planning by providing input on the scope, timeline, and resourcing requirements, including any risks and challenges associated.
• Plan and coordinate the process design, solution, and test scenarios with the technical team (Internal or 3rd party)
• Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure that testing processes align with project requirements.
• Participate in the UAT sessions and the validation of deliverables to ensure they meet business/functional and technical specifications.

Continuous Improvement

• Provide insights and recommendations for process improvements based on lessons learned from project experiences.
• Develop visual representations of business processes and proactively identify opportunities for continuous optimization.

Business Process Analysis and Improvement

• Conduct business process assessment, offering initial recommendations based on the current processes and systems to address identified business needs.
• Perform graphical representation of current and future operational mode of process using business process tools (e.g., BPMN, SIPOC, VSM,RACI)
• Perform/assist business process related documentation
• Gather, collate, consolidate data accurately and in sufficient detail from internal or external sources
• Proactively identifying and submitting ideas and recommendations for potential opportunities for process improvement and innovation within IT and/or the IT PPD Team

Others

• Performs other related duties and responsibilities related to the function that may be assigned by the TL
• Conforms to the company's Quality, Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety, and Asset Management Systems policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines based on ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 55000 Standards.
• Reports Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety events/incidents or potential events, or other security risks to the organization/ committees-in-charge.
• Ensure project compliance with information security policies and processes to safeguard sensitive data and maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of IT systems and assets.
• Protects information assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction, or interference in accordance with ISMS policies Maintains availability, confidentiality, and integrity of documents

• Proficient in analyzing complex data and providing actionable insights to address business challenges
• Strong problem-solving skills to address business challenges and recommend effective solutions
• Skilled in gathering and documenting comprehensive business and project requirements
• Ability to influence executive-level stakeholders and drive strategic decision-making through effective communication and problem-solving.
• Familiarity with project management principles, contributing to effective project planning, scope definition, and resource allocation

Job Qualifications:

• Professional: At least 5 years experience in IT or a related field and 3 years' experience as IT Business Analyst handling medium-scale IT projects.
• Leadership: Not required but of advantage
• Relevant BA Experience: Successfully and consistently delivered quality business analyst outputs (BRDs, BPAs, FR, etc.) for at least 4 small to medium-scale IT projects (around 3-6 months).
• Demonstrated proficiency in at least two functional domains (e.g., Finance, HCM, Supply Chain, EAM, Billing, etc.) and engaged diverse stakeholders. Independently applies skills and judgment within guidelines to complete assignments.
• Graduate of any four-year college course, preferably Industrial Engineering
• Entry-level business analysis certificate, Agile Foundation
• Entry Certificate in Business Analysis recommended
