Medical Coder

Work Setup: 100% Onsite at Eastwood Libis, Quezon City 

Work Schedule: Night Shift - 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM from Monday to Friday (Following U.S Time Zone - Day shift Schedule is possible after the training)

Duties and Responsibilities:

We are looking for a Medical Coder with specialized experience in either Inpatient Surgery or Same Day Surgery (SDS) coding. This role is ideal for professionals who excel in surgical coding and are passionate about accuracy, compliance, and supporting healthcare operations through precise documentation and code assignment.

• Accurately assign ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for surgical procedures based on clinical documentation

• Focus on either:

• Inpatient Surgery: Coding complex surgical procedures performed during hospital admissions

• Same Day Surgery: Coding outpatient surgeries performed in ambulatory or hospital-based settings
• Ensure coding compliance with CMS, payer, and facility-specific guidelines
• Review operative reports and clinical notes to validate code selection and sequencing
• Collaborate with providers and coding teams to resolve documentation issues and support claim accuracy
• Maintain productivity and quality standards while adhering to HIPAA and regulatory requirements

Qualifications:

• Certifications: CPC, COC, CCS, COSC, or equivalent (AAPC or AHIMA)

• Experience: Minimum 3–5 years in surgical coding, with proven expertise in either:

• Inpatient Surgery coding, or

• Same Day Surgery coding
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and surgical procedures
• Familiarity with Epic or similar EHR systems
• Excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work independently

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in coding for multiple surgical specialties (e.g., Orthopedics, GI, ENT, Urology, OBGYN)
• Background in coding audits, education, or quality assurance is a plus
