Our mission is to enhance sustainability in agriculture by helping our customers access and use real-time spatial data to maximize their results.

As we enter a new phase of growth, we are scaling our core engineering and spatial technology teams to deliver on our ambitious goals. You'll be part of a diverse, remote-friendly team based in Australia and the Philippines, including backend developers, frontend developers, spatial data scientists, DevOps engineers, and agritech specialists.

This role is more than just coding or making maps — it's about building end-to-end spatial solutions, from architecture and workflows through to performant APIs and real-world applications.

Our Technology

We're building our new platform primarily in Python, leveraging a modern spatial tech stack:

• Python with libraries such as numpy, rasterio, shapely, fiona, GDAL
• PostgreSQL + PostGIS as our spatial database
• FastAPI for building services and APIs
• Docker, GitHub, and AWS (EC2, S3, SQS, Lambda) for deployment and scaling

We handle large spatial datasets (rasters, vectors, time series), so performance, workflow optimization, and scalability are central to our architecture.

About You

We're looking for a Spatial Developer who is:

• A strong Python engineer
• Experienced in geospatial data systems
• Skilled in designing and building spatial workflows and pipelines
• Able to work across backend architecture and GIS implementation

You are a motivated, experienced engineer ready to lead, mentor, and help deliver impactful technology to the agriculture industry.

Ideally, You Have:

• 5+ years' experience building commercial applications/services
• Solid experience with Python and spatial libraries (rasterio, shapely, numpy, Fiona, GDAL)
• Proficiency with:
• FastAPI
• PostgreSQL + PostGIS
• Docker
• AWS (EC2, S3, SQS, Lambda)
• CI/CD, GitHub, and testing (unit & integration)
• Experience designing scalable spatial data pipelines
• Familiarity with spatial indexing, tiling, and performance optimization

Bonus: Experience with React is helpful but not required.

You Should Also Be Comfortable With:

• Geospatial data processing (rasters, vectors — points, lines, polygons)
• Spatial data conversions and transformations (projections, CRS handling)
• Delivering reliable APIs that serve complex spatial data at scale
• Mentoring others and sharing technical knowledge

About Our Client

Our client is an Australian ag-tech startup delivering real-time access to spatial data for farmers, agronomists, and the broader agriculture industry.

We simplify precision ag-tech by making it scalable, accessible, and actionable. Users can easily turn satellite imagery, soil mapping, and machine data into powerful agricultural insights.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to Php150,000.00 per month
